Playing for LSCA
Eligibility
To be eligible to play for LSCA, a child must meet at least one of the following two criteria:
Attend a school with an Inner London postcode (starts with N, NW, S, SW, SE, E, EC, W or WC)
Attend a cricket club that operates within any of those postcodes.
Exceptions will only be permitted with the consent of the Executive Committee.
Trials process
Each year LSCA write to all eligible schools and clubs to request nominations for players. The children will then attend a thorough trial process where our team of coaches will assess the players. Squads will then be formed for winter training ahead of fixtures in the summer.
Fees & costs
There is no membership fee to pay but we do charge fees for trials, training and matches in order to cover the cost of the facilities and coaches. The fees will depend on the number of trial/training sessions that your child has been invited to attend. These costs will be made clear to all parents ahead of the session.
As an organisation that welcomes children from all backgrounds, LSCA will endeavour to ensure that finances will never prevent a child being able to participate. Please get in touch with our Secretary Peter Yeates on peter.yeates@londonschoolscricket.com who will be happy to discuss this further.
Fixtures & results
You can find full scorecards of LSCA matches on our Play-Cricket website which can be accessed here.
If you have any questions regarding fixtures or results please contact your child's age-group lead coach.
Teamwear
The full range of LSCA embroidered clothing can be found by visiting our Gray Nicolls site here.
Required teamwear for players:
Parents of children selected to represent LSCA are expected to obtain the following items of teamwear:
LSCA-branded white Matrix Shirt - we recommend buying these without player initials so that they can be recycled (see below).
LSCA-branded navy blue Pro Fit Cap - we recommend adding player initials as they tend to get mixed up easily.
LSCA-branded navy blue Training Matrix T-shirt - we recommend buying these without player initials so that they can be recycled (see below).
Plain navy blue trousers or shorts, such as Gray-Nicolls navy blue training trousers - these do not have to be Gray-Nicolls and do not have to be LSCA branded.
Training tops and trousers should be worn for indoor training, on match days when arriving at the match and for warming-up in and after matches.
Long sleeve versions of the shirts are recommended for wicket-keepers. Any additional clothing requirements will be communicated to parents by the age-group coach.
Recycling LSCA kit
When your children have outgrown LSCA kit that is still in usable condition we would ask parents to consider donating the kit for other children to use. Please contact our Secretary Peter Yeates on peter.yeates@londonschoolscricket.com to find out more about this scheme.
